If you have run out of hot water on a Sunday, that is exactly the sort of call I take.
A lot of London houses still have a rented tank, and a lot of people have been paying that monthly charge for longer than the tank has been alive. It is worth doing the arithmetic. I will happily do it with you and tell you where the line falls, including what it costs to get out of the rental, because that part catches people out.
If you own yours and it has gone, I will tell you what is worth putting right and what is not. A thermocouple or a gas valve on a tank with plenty of life left is a fair repair. A tank that is weeping from the shell is finished, and no amount of parts changes that.
Tankless is genuinely better for some houses and a waste of money in others, and which one you are depends on how your household actually uses hot water rather than on a brochure.
Southwestern Ontario water is hard, and hardness is what shortens the life of both types. On a tank it means sediment on the bottom, the rumbling noise, and slow recovery. On a tankless it means the heat exchanger wants descaling. I will show you how to do that yourself if you want to, rather than making it a mystery you have to pay for.
Same as everything else I do. Gas connections tested, venting checked properly, and I do not pack the van until it is right.
“Mozee thoroughly inspected for gas leaks upon completion. Mozee says, no bubble, no trouble.”

Eight to twelve years for a tank in our water, longer if it has been drained now and then. A tankless unit will go longer than that if it gets descaled.
Yes. I will tell you what the rental is actually costing you against buying your own, including the cost of getting out of the contract, and you can decide from there.
For a household that keeps running out of hot water, usually yes. For steady modest use in a house that would need the gas line and venting upgraded, often not. It depends on your house, so ask me about yours.
If it is coming from a fitting or the relief valve, yes. If the tank itself is weeping, no, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you a repair that will not hold.
London and the surrounding area. Just outside it? Ring anyway and I will tell you straight whether I can get to you.
Installation, repairs and service on all of it, tested before I leave.
